CHRISTIAN WOOD AND JAMES YOUNG NAMED TO MIDSEASON ALL-NBA G LEAGUE EASTERN CONFERENCE TEAM
WILMINGTON, DE – FEBRUARY 2, 2018 – The NBA G League today announced that Christian Wood and Philadelphia 76ers two-way player James Young have been named to the Midseason All-NBA G League Eastern Conference Team.
Wood has appeared in 26 games (24 starts) for the Sevens this season. He is averaging a double-double of 22 points (ranks No. 5) and 10 rebounds per game, and has recorded 14 total double-doubles so far. He was named to the 2018 All-NBA G League Showcase Second Team earlier this year. On Jan. 20, he posted a season-high 38 points and 14 rebounds (also on Dec. 19 and Dec. 27).
Young has appeared in 23 G League games this season (23 starts) with the Delaware 87ers and Wisconsin Herd, and five games for the Philadelphia 76ers. He is averaging 22 points (ranks No. 7), five rebounds and three assists per game in the G League.
This season, the NBA’s official minor league recognized its top performers by naming the Midseason All-NBA G League Teams. NBA G League coaches, general managers and players voted on the top performers from the first half of the season from their respective conferences, based on the performance of players in games through Jan. 21, 2018. Eligibility for players to be selected for recognition was based on having played in 50 percent of their team’s games through Jan. 21 and being on an Active Roster. Two-way players and players on assignment from the NBA are eligible to both vote for and receive Midseason All-NBA G League recognition.
The Sevens’ next home game is on Monday, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET when the team takes on the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario at the Bob Carpenter Center.
