DELAWARE 87ERS TO WELCOME VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN FOR BEAU BIDEN FOUNDATION NIGHT ON SATURDAY
WILMINGTON, DE – JANUARY 19, 2018 – The Delaware 87ers today announced that the team will host its second annual Beau Biden Foundation Night on Saturday, Jan. 20, when the team faces the Erie BayHawks at 7 p.m. ET. Former Vice President of the United States Joe Biden is scheduled to be in attendance as the two organizations look to raise awareness for the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children and its mission to protect the most vulnerable among us, especially children who have fallen victim to abuse and neglect.
Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to address the crowd in a special halftime ceremony.
Sevens players will wear special-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off to fans to benefit the Beau Biden Foundation. Additionally, all fans who purchase tickets to the game using the promo code BEAUBIDEN here will receive 15 percent off tickets, and 20 percent of all tickets bought using the promo code will also be donated to the Beau Biden Foundation.
Representatives from the Foundation can also be found at their KidZone table, where they’ll be assisting families with creating Child ID kits. The first 500 kids to arrive will receive a special Beau Biden Foundation mini basketball.
At select 87ers home games, fans can find representatives from the Beau Biden Foundation at their table located in the KidZone. The Foundation will also be hosting a Stewards of Children training event in April during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Representatives from the Beau Biden Foundation will further impact local children in Delaware by accompanying the team on trips to Austin D. Baltz and Bancroft Elementary Schools to spread the message of child abuse prevention to young students in January as part of the team’s Read87 program.
