WILMINGTON, DE – MARCH 15, 2017 – The Delaware 87ers today announced that the team has acquired forward Shane Edwards.

Edwards (6-7, 220) has four seasons of NBA D-League experience, having played with the Canton Charge (2011-12, 2013-14) and New Mexico Thunderbirds (2009-11). In 136 total D-League appearances, he averaged 14 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 29 minutes per game. During his second season with the Canton Charge, he received a GATORADE Call-Up to the Cleveland Cavaliers and played in two games with the team (March 2014). He was an NBA D-League All-Star (2011), All D-League Honorable Mention (2011) and named NBA D-League Performer of the Week (December 2010).

Edwards has also spent time playing overseas (2011-16). He most recently played for the Alaska Aces (2015-16) of the Filipino PBA and BG Goettingen of the German BBL (2015-16). He averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 27 minutes per game with the two teams.

While playing collegiately at Little Rock, Edwards was a first-team All-Sun Belt and first-team NABC All-District selection. He averaged nine points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 23 minutes per game in his college career.
